A Journey into Homeopathy..!!!

Hello Friends,

As I sat to write down, something within told me that before everything, I must introduce you all to Homeopathy! So lets take a walk down the memory lane & acquaint ourselves with this miraculous science!! Homeopathy is a natural science of medicine, based on age old, well proven principles & the Laws of Nature with the advantage of having virtually no side effects. Even though it was Dr. Samuel Hahnemann who actually propounded the Law of Homeopathy, its application was there even before Dr. Hahnemann!!! Paracelsus, Hippocrates- the father of medicine, in 5th century B.C., Aristotle- (these, as we all know are the Stalwarts of the Old School of Medicine) and ancient Ayurvedic texts have on occasions mentioned this law. It was also utilized by many cultures, including the Chinese, Greeks, Native American Indians and Asian Indians.
Dr. Hahnemann was actually a German physician who gave up his successful practice because he believed that the medicine of his time did much more harm than good. He studied and experimented in depth, to codify this law into a full fledged, scientific system of medicine. This Law is called as the Law of Similars! It says: “Similia Similibus Curantur” i.e. “Like cures like”. One common example of the Law of Similars in action is the use of Allium cepa, or onion, in homeopathic potency, to treat certain kinds of head colds. When someone has a cold characterized by red, burning, running eyes, the administration of Allium cepa, which will cause those same symptoms in a person without a cold, can help the body throw off or move beyond the illness. Since this law finds its roots in Nature, it is also called as “The Nature’s Law of Cure”. As it works hand in hand with Mother Nature so, it enhances & speeds up the process of recovery. This is achieved because; not only does it strengthen the body’s own defense- mechanism & build up the body’s immunity but also maintains a state of harmony between the mind, body & soul! So, now the body is prepared to fight its own battles!

BUT DID YOU ALSO KNOW THAT HOMEOPATHY IS BOTH A COMPLEMENTARY & AN ALTERNATE THERAPY?

Homeopathy is Complementary to Modern Medicine. I have my reasons for believing in the same. Let me explain:

- It alleviates the pains & discomfort associated with surgery.
